Essentially, they transformed an image of affection into a symbol of hostility who approves exactly the harshness that he denounced in biblical teachings; this transformation occurred at a slower pace, over decades instead of months, but it is nonetheless unsettling through similar means, a confusing personal impact for countless people.
A Harmful Christianity Establishes Itself
So let me first describe the Savior from my upbringing, since in theory Jesus is the center of any Christian faith, and since the fastest-growing cadre among Americans might have little sense of him because they identify as atheists or doubters or spiritual independents. I take no issue with these various perspectives, nor with different religions; however I believe that contain precious wisdom of great price in biblical accounts.

In the fifties it was contained via weakening – Protestantism was so prevalent that it basically baptized the status quo.
A Struggle for the Highest Within Us
Therefore I have felt inspired to witness the steadfast resistance regarding Trump develop in this past year.
